Ynys Mon - or the Isle of Anglesey - is where
my dad lives. It's not like anywhere else in Wales. I first starting visiting it
when I was tiny: my mother loved it, and her father (the writer, Edmund Vale)
once lived for a year on Llandwyn island, near Newborough, with his friend the
artist Harry Glazebrook. Recent pictures: Just
back from staying with my dad for Christmas 2004. After the long drive up on
Christmas Eve, I tried to walk across Newborough Warren to the sea, but the path
was flooded. So I drove over to one of my favourite beaches, Porth Trecastell.
Tide coming in or going out? Not sure

Very cold but wonderful skies

It was about 1600, so the sun was setting

Fantastic Anglesey skyscape

And I stopped at Aberffraw to see the dunes

My
brother Barn and I were up in September 2004, and we walked over to Llandwyn
island, which we both love.
